Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Superior Sioux City Insulation Company to do. By browsing the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
When we say "we," "us" or "our crew," we mean Superior Sioux City Insulation Company and the people who work for us. When we say "you," we mean the homeowner, property owner or person who asks us for an estimate or hires us.
What we do
We're an insulation contractor in Sioux City, IA, and we work in Sioux City and the cities around it. Our work includes attic, wall, crawl space and basement insulation, blown-in insulation, spray foam, air sealing, vapor barriers and taking out old insulation. You can read more about the work on our home page and about who we are on our About page.
What you read on this site is general information to help you understand the job. It isn't advice for your house and it isn't a quote. Every house is different, and we only know what yours needs once we've looked at it.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free and done in person, and asking for one doesn't obligate you to anything. The estimate covers the work we've described for your house, based on what we can see and reach on the day we come out.
Some things only show up once the job is open. Old insulation can turn out to be soaked or full of droppings, framing can be damaged, or gaps around lights and pipes can be bigger than they looked from the hatch. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you, and explain what it changes before we do any extra work. Extra work and any change in price only go ahead once you've agreed to them.
An estimate holds for the period written on it. After that, material prices and our schedule may have changed, so we'll look at it again with you before we start.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We set your start date with you once you accept the estimate. Weather, material deliveries and what we find on earlier jobs can push a date, and when that happens we'll tell you as soon as we know and set a new one with you.
On the day of the work, you agree to give our crew safe access to the areas we're working in, including the attic hatch, crawl space entrance or rooms below the work, and to move stored items out of the way if we've asked you to. If we can't get in when we arrive, we may have to reschedule.
Some products, spray foam in particular, need everyone out of the house for a while after they go in. When that applies to your job, we'll tell you ahead of time when to leave and when it's safe for you, your kids and your pets to come back, and you agree to follow those instructions because they're there for your health.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us at (712) 560-3837 as early as you can. If we've already ordered material made or cut for your job, or we're already on the way, we may charge for those costs, and we'll explain any charge before you're asked to pay it.
Payment
The amount you owe, any deposit and when payment is due will be written on your estimate or work agreement before we start. Unless that says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may hold off on any remaining work until it's settled, and you agree to pay reasonable costs we have to spend collecting an unpaid balance where the law allows it.
Our guarantee and what we don't promise
We're fully licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it with you.
Insulation and air sealing make a house more comfortable and help with drafts and the power bill, but how much depends on the house, how it's lived in and the weather each year. We can't promise a specific drop in your bills or a specific temperature in any room.
Products we install also come with the maker's own warranty, where the maker offers one, and those terms are set by the maker, not by us. Apart from our guarantee and any written warranty we give you for your job, the site and our services are provided as they are, without other promises, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
We're responsible for doing our work properly and for damage our crew causes while doing it. We aren't responsible for problems that were already in your house before we started, like existing roof leaks, rot, mold, pests or wiring, or for damage caused by work other people do after we leave.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job won't be more than what you paid us for that job, and we aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost income or lost use of the house. Nothing here limits any right you have under the law that can't be limited by agreement.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything, please talk to us first, because most problems get fixed fastest with a phone call and a visit. You can call (712) 560-3837 or reach us through our Contact page, and we'll work with you in good faith to sort it out.
If we can't settle it between us, either of us can take it to the state or federal courts that serve Sioux City, Iowa.
Which state's law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, even when the job is in one of the cities we serve in Nebraska or South Dakota, except where the law of the state the work is in says otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that applies when you use the site or book with us. If you've already signed an agreement for a job, the terms in that agreement apply to that job.
If anything here isn't clear, ask us on our Contact page and we'll explain it in plain words.
